To study the socio-economic profile of soil health card scheme beneficiaries

The present study was carried out during the year 2020–21, in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar district ofthe Western Uttar Pradesh to know the socio-economic status of soil health card scheme adopters. Thestudy is conducted on 160 farmers of various categories and data were collected by personal interviewmethod. The study revealed that 56.87 per cent SHC adopters were observed in the middle age categorywith their ages ranging between 31 to 60 years, most of the SHC adopters were educated, 72.50 per centother backward caste, 90.63 per cent married, 73.13 per cent living in nuclear family system, 65.00 percent having medium size of family, 93.75 per cent having pucca house, most of SHC adopters belonged tosmall and marginal farmers category, majority of the SHC users mostly meet to neighbors and relativesto get the information about new agricultural practices and maximum SHC users were always using amobile phone as a source of mass media contact.
