Abstract

An experiment was carried out at Horticulture Research Centre, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University ofAgriculture & Technology, Modipuram, Meerut during August - November, 2020. The experimentalmaterials comprised of sixteen treatments were planted in randomized complete block design (RCBD) withthree replications to observe the effect of pinching on growth and yield of chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemummorifolium) cv. Snowball. Results showed the significant variation among all characteristics. Result alsorevealed that among the treatments, the highest plant height (54.31 cm) at 120 DAT was observed from T1 No pinching (control). The highest number of branches per plant (7.81 plant1) at 90 DAT recorded under T2 treatment. The highest number of leaves per plant (95.01 plant1) at 90 DAT showed by treatment T2, the highest leaf area (58.78 cm2) at 120 DAT showed by treatment T2, the highest number of flowers per plant (76.48 plant1) recorded under the treatment T2. The highest flower yield per plant (272.59g) was obtained under the treatment T2. the highest flower yield per plot (9.88kg ha1) was obtained under the treatment T2. The highest flower yield per hectare (36.58 t ha1 had been registered with the treatment T2.
