Dissemination of improved package and practices of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) in Ambala (Haryana)

The frontline demonstrations were conducted by Krishi vigyankendra, Ambala (Haryana). During 2018 a total 10 front line demonstrations on coriander variety Hisar Anand was conducted at farmer'sfield. The yield and economic performance of frontline demonstrations, the data on output were collectedfrom FLDs as well as local plots and finally the green leaves yield, cost of cultivation, net returns withthe benefit cost ratio was worked out.Yield of green leaves in coriander under demonstration rangedfrom (4775 kg/ha) during the period under study. Technological intervention, thus, enhanced yield to a tune1 2.35%, respectively, over the local check. These gaps were further categorised as technology andextension gaps. Technology gap indicates a gap in demonstration yield over the potential yield, and thiswas 725 kg/ha during 2018. Technology index refer to the feasibility of variety at farmers field. A lowerthe value of technology index (13.18) more is the feasibility.front line demonstrations recorded highermean gross return (Rs. 71625/ha) and mean net returns (Rs. 26625/ha) with average benefit: cost ratio (1.59) compared to the localchecks in our study.
