Heterogeneous graphene oxide (GO) catalysed efficient and rapid synthesis of pyrazole derivatives and evaluation of their anti-cancer activity

Abstract

An environment friendly method has been developed for the synthesis of drug like molecules economically, in one pot through a three-component reaction. The methodology has wide substrate scope under green reaction condition with low catalytic loading (0.05 wt.%). Taking into account the toxic effect of using metal-catalyst, Graphene Oxide catalysed efficient synthesis of pyrazole derivatives has been described herein for the synthesis of heterocyclic scaffold.Molecules synthesized were evaluated for their anti-cancer activity, showing strong inhibitory action against cell line A-549, thereby strengthening the knowledge of existing theories on cancer cells. The method involves reuse of recovered catalyst without loss in activity and yield, along with easy purification techniques.
