Abstract

The growing need for effective and sustainable farming methods has spurred tremendous developments in greenhouse horticulture in recent years. In order to help growers, maximize crop yield, use the fewest resources possible, and improve sustainability all around, this summary gives a general overview of the cutting-edge technologies and cultivation techniques that have transformed greenhouse horticulture. Technology advancements in lighting have been extremely important to greenhouse horticulture. Due to its energy economy, controllability, and spectral specificity, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have become the preferred lighting source. LEDs may be configured to emit particular wavelengths of light, enabling farmers to improve photosynthesis, optimize lighting conditions for various growth phases, and modify plant shape. Furthermore, dynamic lighting regimes that mimic natural light cycles and enhance crop performance have been made possible by the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms in lighting control systems.
