The character association at phenotypic and genotypic levels were estimated in four populations of chickpea viz., P1, P2, P3 and P4 comprising genotypes Developed through intraspecific and intorspecific hybridization, mutation breeding and pooled genotypes, respectively. In general, the populations P2 andP3 exhibited larger changes in the correlation, which suggest that interspecific hybridization and mutation breeding should be followed for getting large number of new combinations of breaking the linkages in chickpea.
