The present investigations were under taken with an objective to ascertain the effect of nitrogen and phosphorus under varying plant geometry on the growth and yield attributes of Okra under the Gangetic plains of Northern India. The vegetative growth in respect of height and diameter of plant, number of leaves and nodes and leaf area increased to the maximum at 140 kg N followed by its the 120 and 80 kg N doses during both the years. Similarly the highest level of P(100 kg/ha) promoted these attributes followed by 80 kg. Low plant density (50x40 cm) induced greater vegetative growth when compared with high plant density (50 x 30 cm). Fertilization with 140kg N in conjuction with 100 kg P2 05 to high density plants gave 126.26 and 126.86 q/ha yield of green pods during first and second year respectively.
Nitrogen, Okra and Phosphorus
