Abstract

Results of field study (Pooled data of 2004–05 and 2005–06) conducted at Regional Sugarcane and Rice Research Station, Rudrur, Nizamabad district of Andhra Pradesh revealed that through the sole crop of Sugarcane (82.9 t/ha) followed by Sugarcane + Flora bean paired row intercropping (80.8 t/ha) gave significantly higher cane yield, highest sugarcane equivalent yield (147.3 t/ha), net returns (Rs. 56839=00/ha) and B: C ratio (1.2) was obtained due to Sugarcane + Cucumber paired row intercropping system. However, significant improvement in organic carbon and N status in soil was observed in Sugarcane + Flora bean system.
