Abstract

Present experiment was carried out for two consecutive years 1999 and 2000 to study the effect of sowing techniques and nitrogen and phosphorus levels on yield attributes and yield of rainfed rice and Nand P uptake by crop. Yield attributing characters of paddy i.e., panicle length, number of spikelets and fertile spikelets panicle−1, grain and straw yield of paddy and nitrogen and phosphorus uptake was significantly Influenced by sowing techniques and nitrogen and phosphorus levels. Transplanting method of sowing responded best in panicle length, total and fertile splkelets panicle−1, test weight of grain, grain and straw yield and uptake of Nand Pin comparison to lehi and direct sowing techniques. Yield attributing characters and yield of paddy and nitrogen and phosphorus uptake was increased significantly with increasing levels of N and P. during both the years, yield attributing characters, grain and straw yield and nutrient uptake of N and P by paddy was significantly higher under 120 kg N ha−1 and 80 kg P202 ha−1 over its respective lower levels as well as control.
