Stability for 16 parents and their 56 crosses in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) was studied under three different envitoments. Linear component of interaction and linear component of environment was significant for seed hardness, 100 grain weight, protein content, tryptophan content and grain yield. The linearly was predominated for protein content, tryptophan content, seed hardness, 100 grain weight and grain yield. The variation due to pooled deviation (non linear) was highly significant for all the traits except seed hardness and 100 grain weight indicating the substantial amount of genetic diversity in the present material. The large variation in regression coefficient in the present study revealed that parent varieties and their crosses had different degree of environmental responses. Among the genotypes K7618, K7402 and K7410 were highly adapted as they exhibited non-significant deviation from regression, regression coefficient less than unity and high mean value for grain yield. K7410 showed adaptation for for seed hardness. protein content and tryptophan content. Crosess K7229/K7503, K7229/K7410, K7229/K7402, IWP72/K7503 and IWP72/K7410 involving high x high adoptive cultivars showed high adaptation for high yield and average in other traits including quality. Other crosses L7618/K7503. L7827/K7410, WL410/K7503, WL410/K7402 and K65/K7402 comprising high x low cultivars for grain yield and given substantial degree of suitable performance.
