Understanding the Efficacy of ‘Politics of Reforms’ in accelerating Development process in India: Performance Analysis of Indian Economy in the Fiscal 2014–2015

In vibrant democracies like India, moving the economic policies in the right direction that pushes the overall development of the country is necessary. All governments have been trying to do the same, depending on their ideologies. ‘Change’ is one essential tool that all should adapt to. Politics of development will never suffice the required until the idea of change is understood well, especially in vibrant democracies. Otherwise, evils like corruption restrict the development to percolate at lower levels and eventually retard the development channel. Hence, the integration of ‘politics of reforms’ to ‘politics of development’ is the breakthrough from the vicious cycle of backwardness that the political system should provide. This paper looks into the same aspect, which seems to be recently introduced in India and grounding the base for accelerated overall development of the nation. In this paper, the efficacy of such politics is been tested by measuring the performance of Indian economy in the fiscal year 2014–2015 through some recognised indicators of economic health.
