Setting the Record Straight on the Promises and the Unruliness of the Current Chief Minister of Meghalaya: Will the Grand Old Party Reign Again after the 2018 State Assembly Elections?

In India, the Chief Minister is not only the real executive head of the State but also a leader of the ruling party. It is he/she who formulates the policies of the state and guides the Council of Ministers to implement them. He/she is the most powerful functionary of the state, especially when one political party has an absolute majority in the State Legislative Assembly. He is a leader within his party. He represents for them, talks on their behalf and he is expected to act as people’ representative in the right approach. When it comes to administration, the present MUA-II Government of Meghalaya seems to have operated like an independent country, ignoring the provision of the Constitution of India. The purpose of this article is basically to highlight the string of unruliness made by the present Chief Minister of Meghalaya.
