Abstract

The current conflict in West Asia, which has resulted in thousands of deaths in both Israel and the Gaza Strip, is primarily the result of rocket attacks by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023. It has significantly jeopardized regional peace and security and, once more, escalated into an Arab-Israeli conflict. The entire globe is in complete shock—no one could have predicted an attack of this magnitude. It is also a major failing of intelligence services in other nations as well as in Israel. India, a loyal ally of Israel and a proponent of the state of Palestine, has encountered significant obstacles on both fronts. India cannot totally support Israel because it has badly affected its interests in the Middle East and cannot oppose Israel either, as it will harm its ties with the United States and other European countries that stand with Israel. This study aims to investigate the underlying causes of this conflict. Why has it arisen again and again? Who is in charge of it? What future effects will this conflict have on India and other parts of the world? How will it affect world politics and the global economy? These and other relevant questions are the main focus of this study.
