Abstract

In the contemporary era, most governments are focusing on efficient and effective methods for the delivery of public services. Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is one of these methods adopted by the governments to ensure speedy and transparent service delivery to the citizens. As it differs from conventional governance models, PPP is seen as an innovation in health governance. Nowadays, BOT, JV, Turnkey, Outsourcing, and Social Franchising are models of PPP adopted by the government sector. The various new concepts that have evolved over time have ensured a better service delivery mechanism; in this context, the paper argues that the emergence of the PPP has changed the traditional approach to management and administration in the health sector. Further, this research paper discusses the conceptual part of governance, innovation in governance, public-private partnership (PPP), a review of available literature related to Public–Private Partnership in the health sector, and various schemes currently being implemented by the Government of India through Public–Private Partnership. Along with this, this research paper analyzes the current situation of Public–Private Partnership in the health sector in India and tries to provide possible suggestions for the success and goal fulfillment of this innovation in health governance.
