The present paper focused on the strategic relations between India and Myanmar post-cold war era. India’s relations with Myanmar are most important in the context of new specific approach to its security. India shares 1643 km long border with Myanmar and a long maritime boundary. it is important to seek stability on the north-eastern border by ensuring economic and strategic prosperity of the region especially in view of the fact that it is a land bridge to the South-East Asian Region. There is continuing interaction to tackle drugs trafficking, arms smuggling and insurgency related activities. India has been pursing friendly relations with Myanmar with the goal of countering china influence in the region.
