Changing Idioms of Indian Politics: An Analysis

Dr. Anil Dutta Mishra, Eminent Gandhian Scholar and Treasurer of IIPA, Delhi Regional Branch, New Delhi, India

Abstract

The tragedy of modern Indian political system is that the important aspects of the ethics, morality and governance are not given serious attention. The ruling elite never want to empower people. In democracy people is supreme. Unfortunately people are at the receiving end. The quest of humanity for social justice and sustainability will remain a dream until and unless political parties realize to uplift the poor and down trodden. It can be said that politics is untrue which ignores and disregards moral values and empowering poor. India’s success will be measured not by homogenizing a heterogeneous situation, but by the success with which diverse societies can be harmonized and co-exist and become mutually reinforcing and supportive; where traditions and modernity are appropriately blended, and where man- made capital does not become destructive of the natural capital.
