Abstract

In the beginning, I would like to make it clear that this paper covers a very narrow aspect of reservations in the institutions of higher learning. It only deals with the appointment of teaching staff in the Universities and Colleges after Parliament passed 93rd Constitution Amendment Act 2005 which reserved seats for the Scheduled castes and Scheduled Tribes in the admission and appointment of Teaching and Non-Teaching staff in the institutions of higher learning (Annexure I).
