Urdbean germplasm was evaluated for yield and genetic resistance against whitefly and yellow mosaic virus during Kharif 2007 and 2008. Out of twenty two germplasm lines only two genotypes i.e. KARS 114 and Pant U-02-11 showed significantly low mean for whitefly population/leaf (2.49 and 2.54) whereas four genotypes viz. IPU 245, KARS 114, KARS-14 and KUG-50 showed low disease severity i.e. 7.33,8.66, 9.31 and 9.66 percent, respectively. Due to low infestation by whitefly and YMV incidence, seed yield production of IPU 245, KARS 114, KARS 108 and KUG-50 was significantly higher than the other genotypes. Correlation and regression studies also exhibited that whitefly population coupled with YMV infestation inversely contributed their significant adverse effect to the yield, which needs genetic improvement of the genotypes.
