Abstract

Pre-emergence rot is a serious disease of capsicum nurseries taking a heavy toll of seedlings. Efficacy of eleven organic products was tested for the management of pre-emergence rot of capsicum under the mid-hill conditions of North-West Himalayas (NWH) during 2006 and 2007. Cow-dung extract, Artemisia vulgaris, Lantana camara, Eucalyptus globulus, Ocimum sanctum, Zanthoxylum acanthopodium and Neem cake extract (NCE) were found promising in the management of this disease. The study concludes that the organic products are cost-effective and eco-friendly for the management of pre-emergence rot of capsicum as compared to chemicals.
