Citrus foot rot or gummosis caused by Phytophthora nicotianae var. parasitica is one of the major diseases in citrus causing decline of plants in nursery and orchards. For its effective management, various fungicides namely; Ridomil MZ 72 WP, Ridomil Gold 68 WP, Aliette 80 WP, Curzate M 8, Blitox-50 WP, Bordeaux mixture and Kocide 3000 were screened in vitro each at a concenteration of 25, 50, 75 and 100 ppm employing food poison technique. Among the fungicides tested, Ridomil Gold 68 WP, Ridomil MZ 72 WP and Curzate M 8 were found significantly effective in inhibiting the growth of the pathogen. The promising fungicides Ridomil Gold 68 WP, Ridomil MZ 72 WP and Curzate M 8 when evaluated under in vivo conditions proved to be effective and thus could be exploited to control the disease under field conditions.
