An experiment was conducted to estimate harvest residue of Matco 8–64 (metalaxyl 8% + mancozeb 64%) in kinnow mandarin fruit and soil during February 2006 to January 2007. Three doses of Matco 8–64, 2.5, 5.0 and 10.0g/l were evaluated by applying as trunk paint (2, 5 and 10g of Matco 8 - 64 in 100 ml linseed oil), soil drench and sprays using 10 litre water per tree. The residue of metalaxyl and macozeb were below the detectable levels at the time of harvest of kinnow fruits and soil. Therefore, application of Matco 8–64 in soil and spray at the recommended rates (25 g/tree in 10 litres of water as soil drench and spray 2.5 g/l of water) for the management of citrus foot rot/gummosis (Phyotophthora parasitica) is safe and does not pose any phytotoxic effect.
