Abstract

Fourteen cauliflower genotypes, seven main season (N-9102, PG-26, A-209D, KYS-3, KYS-4, PN-1 and KYS-6) and seven late season (2K6V-19, S-2, S-3, 2K6-66, S-1, No.-2 and KGS-1) were categorized into five types; resistant, moderately resistant, moderately susceptible, susceptible, and highly susceptible on the basis of per cent disease index. An attempt to correlate disease incidence, stomatal size, biochemical characteristics and Alternaria blight resistance in cauliflower has been made. it reveals that lower stomatal size, index and frequency, higher content of phenols, flavonoids, ascorbic acid, chlorophyll and sugars and lesser per cent disease index are indices of resistance in cauliflower genotypes against Alternaria blight.
