Abstract

Web blight of urdbean caused by Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn is an important disease of urdbean. Among four inoculation techniques tested on cv. P U-19, maximum web blight severity (65.3%) was observed on plants sprayed with mycelial suspension followed by inoculation with sclerotia (45.8%). The plant at all growth stages was found to be susceptible, However, disease severities varied with age. Young plants (30–60 days) were more prone to infection. Highest disease score was recorded on plants belonging to family Leguminosae followed by Gramineae.
