Abstract

Studies were conducted in pot house and field to evaluate the effect of different chemicals on root knot nematode infestation in tomato and brinjal nursery. Application of Basamid (a.i. Dazomet 96%) was observed to be effective in reducing root knot nematode infestation in soil. Maximum reduction of root knot nematode infestation was observed in treatment with application of Basamid @ 60g/sq m followed by Basamid @40g/sq m. both in brinjal and tomato nursery. However, Basamid at 60 g/sq m adversely affected the seed germination. Thus, Basamid @ 40g/sq m was found effective in raising root knot nematode free healthy nursery. Application of Basamid @ 40g/sqm also enhanced the growth parameters.
