Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is an important cash crop grown in agro-ecological zones of Jammu and its production is greatly hampered by Potato leaf roll virus (PLRV). Survey was carried out in five districts of Jammu division and it was found that in Jammu district, maximum disease incidence was recorded at Gajansoo (37.6%) followed by Panjore (32.0%), Ponichak (28.0%), Sobka Thathi (21.1%). In Kathua district, maximum incidence of PLRV was recorded in Chadwal (44.8%) followed by Kagri Khokyal (42.4%), Mahrin (36.0%) and Rajbagh (33.6%). In Udhampur district, maximum incidence was recorded in Basantgarh (33.6%), followed by Tikri (29.6%), Chenani (28.0%), and Ramnagar (25.6%). In Poonch district, maximum incidence was recorded in Gambhir (36.0%) followed by Mandi (29.6%) and Loran (28.8%) while in Rajouri district, maximum incidence was recorded in Jhullas (40.0%) followed by Rajouri (39.2%) and Mangnar (24.0%). Serological detection through DAS-ELISA confirmed the presence of PLRV in infected tubers used for seed purpose.
