Abstract

Rust [Uromyces appendiculatus (Pers.) Unger] is an important disease of French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in mid hills of Himachal Pradesh and causes substantial yield losses particularly on pencil type of beans. The present investigations clearly demonstrated that three to four spray of hexaconazole (0.1%) were sufficient to keep the ravages of this disease in check and the disease can cause up to 53 per cent yield losses in green pod yield under mid hill conditions.
