Abstract

Cluster bean (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba L.) is an important crop of Rajasthan. It severely suffers from bacterial leaf blight (BLB) caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. cyamopsidis which is responsible for 50–70% yield loss under severe conditions, if appropriate control measures to combat this disease are not taken timely. The disease causing bacterium is either seed borne or air borne in nature. The seed treatment as well as spraying schedules play a vital role for management as well as saving of crop from blight. Five different treatment combinations were evaluated to manage bacterial blight of cluster bean during Kharif 2014–2016. Seed treatment with Streptocycline 500 ppm + 2 sprays of copper hydroxide (0.2%) at 15 days interval recorded the maximum yield, and minimum disease intensity, which was closely followed by seed treatment with Streptocycline 500 ppm and 2 sprays of copper hydroxide (0.2%)+ Streptocycline 250 ppm at 15 days interval.
