Rust (Uromyces appendiculatus) is an important foliar disease of French bean in hilly tracts of Himachal Pradesh which not only impair the pod yield but also adversely affects quality. For the ecofriendly management different plant origin bio-pesticides were evaluated both under in vitro and field conditions. Neemajal, Achook and Nimbicidine at 5 per cent concentration caused cent per cent urediniospore germination inhibition whereas, water extract of four botanicals Allium cepa, Zingiber officinale, Allium sativum, and Melia azedarach having cent percent germination inhibition at 20 per cent. Under field conditions Neemajal was found significantly more effective in reducing the rust severity to 26.25 per cent followed by Nimbicidine, Achook and A. sativum.
