Design aspects of ehv/uhv transmission line towers-special considerations for high altitude, snow bound area transmission lines

The transmission lines passing through mountainous terrain of high altitude with snow and low temperature need special considerations in selection of electrical clearances, conductors, earth wire/OPGW, Insulators. Sometimes special kind of steel for towers is used to mitigate the effect of low temperature. This paper talks about POWERGRID experience of planning, analysis, design and testing of lattice transmission towers in high altitude snow bound areas.
