Abstract

An experiment was conducted at Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi to find out the quality traits of different cultivars of tomato seeds during 2005–06. The data indicated that the seed quality characters like maximum weight (0.24g per 100 seeds), root length (4.23 cm), seedling fresh weight (0.80 g), seedling dry weight (0.02), germination index (41.73) and vigour index-I (357.30) & vigour index-II (2.27) were found in cultivar Kashi Vishesh while the highest germination percentage was found in cv. Kashi Anupam (82.67) and maximum shoot length (5.6 cm) in cv. Hisar Arun.
