A field experiment was conducted at Vegetable Research Centre G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar during the year 1999–2000 and 2000–2001 in sandy loam soil with different planting pattern i.e. 60 X 15 cm and 60 X 10 cm, two crop duration (70 and 80 days) along with two fertilizers levels (100:80:80 and 150:120:80 N: P: K, Kg./ha) to get the maximum seed size tuber in potato cultivars Kufri Jawahar. None of the treatment influenced emergence and number of tuber per unit area. The number of stem per hills and per unit area was higher at closer spacing. Closer spacing significantly increased total number of small tuber per unit area but spacing have no significance effect on medium and large size tuber number per unit area. Fertility level did not influence total number of small and big size tubers per unit area of although they differ significantly in respect to medium size tubers and they, increases at lower fertility level. Yield of small size tubers differ significantly, where as the yield of medium size tubers increases with increase in spacing and crop duration.
