The present study was conducted at Government Valley fruit Research Station, Jeolokote, Nainital, Uttarakhand during 1998–2005 to popularize its cultivation in Uttarakhand with an objective to evaluate the performance of five kiwifruit cutlivars (Allison, Monty, Bruno, Hayward and Abbott) along with one staminate cultivar (Tomuri) in the region with respect to fruit yield and quality. Kiwi cultivars recorded fruit yield in the trend of Bruno > Allison >Monty > Abbott > Hayward. Bruno cultivar performed better as compared to other cultivars of kiwifruit in term of fruit yield and quality. It produced maximum fruit yield (20.74 kg plant−1), fruit weight (73.54 g), fruit length (5.82 cm), fruit volume (70.5 g cm−3), vitamin C, TSS, total sugar and attained fruit maturity within 180 days of flowering. Hayward produce minimum fruit yield (6.44 kg plant−1), maximum fruit breadth (4.91 cm), medium fruit quality parameters and attained fruit maturity in the late by 210 days. Therefore, Bruno followed by Allison cultivar of kiwifruit needs to be popularize in the region in view of fruit yield and fruit quality parameters.
