The field experiments for present investigation were conducted at National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources Regional Station, Bhowali, the temperate hills of Uttarakhand to characterize morphological features and constituents of essential oil of four genotypes of Rose geranium including NIC23414, NIC23413, NIC23415and IC212823 during the years 2001 were evaluated for perennability (Rattooning), essential oil content and quality parameters of oil. In light of essential oil content of herbage, Egyptian cultivar Kelkar (NIC23414) and genotype from CIMAP Lucknow (NIC23415) were found to be promising genotypes. As far as composition of essential oil is concerned, NIC23415 had most of chemical constituents in surplus quantity whereas NIC23413 and NIC23414 were other genotypes with high quality essential oils.
