Abstract

The investigation was conducted on studies on variability of fruiting and physical characteristics of aonla (Emblica officinalis Gaertn) fruits. The plants were planted in the campus of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, U.P. The experiment was arranged in Randomized Block Design with 12 treatment and 4 replications. The observations recorded during experiment showed that genotype 7 and 10 was found most superior, in terms of fruiting and physical characteristics of fruits. The maximum per cent of fruit retention (46.66) and minimum fruit drop (53.34 percent) was recorded in genotype 10 whereas maximum fruit weight (50.50 g), fruit length (4.45 cm) and fruit volume (49.30 cm3) were observed in G7.
