Investigation Influence of supplemental application of nitrogen on yield and fruit quality of pear Cv. Punjab Beauty was carried out during 2000–03 at experimental orchard of department of Horticulture, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. The supplemental applications of nitrogen were applied at monthly interval from June to November in different treatments. These were being compared with recommended schedule of nitrogen application and the control. The yield per tree was significantly more (59.76 and 57.43 kg per tree) when supplemental dose of nitrogen was applied during September as compared to control which produced 34.34 and 27.60 kg fruit per tree during the year 2001 and 2002 respectively. The weight of fruit was also higher with treatment where supplemental dose of nitrogen was applied in September during both the years.
