Maximum induction of embryogenic callus was achieved with shoot tip as explant on MS medium supplemented with 2, 4-D (0.01mg l−1), BAP (0.1mg l−1) and GA3 (0.1mg l−1) resulting in embryoid formation. Picloram (5.0mg l−1) in MS medium was superior for induction of somatic embryos. When shoot tip was used as explant, the embryoid formation was higher. Also var. CO2 was best for embryogenesis.
