Abstract

Kiwifruit cultivars Abbott, Allison, Bruno, Hayward, Monty along with pollinizer Tomuri (in 5:1 proportion) grown under low hill conditions (700m a.s.l.) were evaluated for the harvest maturity. Total soluble solids, firmness and shelf life were the main criteria for evaluation at different dates of harvest. For cultivars Abbott, Allison and Bruno mid October and for Hayward and Monty end of October were found to be appropriate dates for optimum maturity and harvest. Kiwifruit cultivars were found to be 15 to 30 days early in attaining physiological maturity under low hill conditions in comparison to the mid hills.
