Abstract

An investigation was carried out to examine the effect of leaf age on N, P, K, S, B and Zn content in litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) leaves. The immature and matured leaves from eighteen years old trees having uniform growth and cultural practices were sampled in December before panicle initiation. Nutrient content in leaves were significantly influenced by the tissue maturity. The contents of N, P and K were higher in the immature leaves as compared to matured leaves. The contents of sulfur, boron and zinc were found to be higher in matured leaves as compared to immature ones.
