Abstract

In the present studies on variability in floral characters in peach hybrids, the time of full bloom was early in the seedlings of J.H. Hale x Wild Peach cross and late in Quetta x Wild Peach and Kanto-5 x Wild Peach hybrids. The duration of flowering ranged from 15–26 days. Maximum duration of flowering was found in Quetta x Wild Peach hybrids followed by July Elberta x Wild Peach and minimum in J.H. Hale x Wild Peach progenies. Flower size was maximum in hybrids of J.H. Hale x Wild Peach and minimum in July Elberta x Wild Peach hybrids. Stamen number was maximum in Quetta x Wild Peach and minimum in July Elberta x Wild Peach progenies.
