Onion is semi-perishable crop so that it cannot store for long time. Due to storage loss it cannot be guaranteed that whole amount of the total production is consumed by the people. For increase in self life of bulb without deteriorations of their quality and higher yield, the National Horticultural Research and Development Foundation, Nashik, selected sixteen promising advance lines along with one check Agrifound Light Red and conducted experiment to identify for high yielding and good keeping quality variety under ambient condition of Maharashtra. The highest and significantly gross yield and marketable yield (392.12 q/ha) and (357.89 q/ha) was noted in Line-652 and which was at par with the Lines 672 (348.65 q/ha) and (309.81 q/ha) and check variety Agrifound Light Red (355.35 q/ha) (321.45 q/ha) respectively. The minimum gross yield (263.16 q/ha) and marketable yield (218.67 q/ha) was noted in Lines 343 and 359 respectively. These variations indicated that the yield potentialities of the germplasms and can be utilized for development of higher yield varieties. It is observed that the advance line 652 and line-546 can be utilized for development in higher yield and good keeping quality variety.
