Eight cultivars of cabbage were characterized using morphological descriptors adopted from the DUS guidelines of PPV&FR Authority and subsequently examined for their DUS Testing. Among 26 morphological characteristics studied, 20 were visually assessed and 6 were measured. No intra-varietal variation was observed for any of the visual characteristics and expression of characters in different varieties remained same for the two consecutive years confirming the uniformity and stability of the variety for visual characteristics. On the basis of 26 descriptors varieties were grouped into different categories for each character and may be used as reference varieties. The morphological characterizations of these varieties were completed to used these varieties as reference material for protection of other varieties under PPV&FR.
