Abstract

Different regression models were fitted for the estimation of fruit weight (FW) in mango cvs Dashehari, Langra, Amrapali and Lucknow Safeda using fruit length (FL), fruit breadth at centre (FBC) and product of fruit length and breadth at centre (FLx FBC) individually and collectively and tested for their goodness of fit for selecting most suitable regression model for estimating the fruit weight. The regression model incorporating the product of fruit length and fruit breadth at centre (FLxFBC) was found most suitable for estimating the fruit weight (FW). The regression coefficient in each of the regression model was found significant at one per cent level.
