The study was undertaken to find out the association of different bud forms and their scale characters with the incidence of floral malformation. The results showed that multiple buds produced malformed panicles but relatively more pronounced effect was observed in case of cv. Amrapali. The wider and heavier scales with lesser length-width ratio were associated with an increase in floral malformation in cvs. Amrapali and Dashehari.
