Abstract

The present investigation was carried out to study effect of priming (growth regulators) on the seed quality parameters of tomato cv. keabi variety at optimum temperature. Priming with GA3 was found to be effective to increase the seed germination, seedling length, and seed vigour index. KNO3 at 1% was also found to be the best growth regulator to enhance the germination percentage, seed vigour index with respect to seedling dry weight, shoot length. NAA was found significant to improve seed germination only at 25ppm, 50ppm, 75ppm. It was non-effective to improve the shoot length, root length and seed vigour index for all the concentration. Priming of seed with KNO3 and GA3 was found to be significantly effective to improve the seed quality at optimum temperature.
