Effect of foliar application of chemicals on yield and quality of sapota cv. Kalipatti

Abstract

Amongst the different treatments, Foliar application of GA3 100 ppm during first week in Nov. Dec. and January month, recorded highest number of fruits (2833 per tree) and yield (161kg/tree). the maximum fruit yield (116 kg/plant, which is 72% of the total yield) was recorded during winter months which fetch higher market price (maximum net realization with highest cost: benefit ratio i.e. 1: 4.55) as compared to control. The quality of fruits was also high as 90 percent fruits were under grade A and B. other quality parameters like tSS, Vit. c content in fruit pulp etc. were not influenced by any treatment.
