Due to tremendous human population pressure coupled with all round development across the world formerly widespread forest landscape have been reducing to scattered fragments and many wild fruit tree species become increasingly endangered. So, knowing the type and number of surviving native rare wild fruit tree species and planting them in a conservation area is the urgent step in making strategy to restore them in the reforestation programme of a country. the paper introduces the concept of rare tree Species conservation centre (rtScc) that plays a dual role both in conservation as well as production of rare tree species for planting them back in the forest. In the absence of such human interventions, many rare trees and shrubs will probably become extinct. Hence it would be prudent to establish such centres like Haldwani forest division in other parts of the country to restore the rare tree species diversity of the region.
