Abstract

These Investigations were carried out at Horticultural research Centre of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & technology, Pantnagar. root distribution pattern was studied in 14 years old sapota trees cv. Cricket Ball, planted at a distance of 6.0 metres in square system. Observations on root distribution were recorded in three different seasons, at various radial distances and vertical depths. Active fibrous root density was greatest between 0-60 cm radial distances from the tree trunk at 0-20 cm depth in all the seasons. the fresh weight, dry weight and volume of fibrous roots were higher during autumn season.
