Traditionally Used wild food plants constitute a substantial part of the diet of the inhabitants of Assam, since ancient time. they are good source of nutrients and have great potential in ensuring food security. However, these precious herbs, once abundantly grown wild, are vanishing fast due to anthropogenic activities. the present study was undertaken to record the leafy vegetables, traditionally consumed by locals, through field and literature survey. A total of 100 wild leafy vegetables, belonging to 43 families and 84 genera were recorded.
