Abstract

Agriculture has been impacted negatively at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-22) and floriculture is one of the seriously impacted sectors. Not only impacting the trade in many countries, COVID-19 pandemic has also shown significant behavioral changes in society. India, being a cosmopolitan nation with its major population working in agriculture and its allied sectors such as floriculture, the impact of COVID-19 is very pronounced. The lack of information on domestic trade during COVID-19 and its impact on sociocultural changes impacted the policy decisions. Through surveys and data collection and analysis, this study investigated the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on price, supply, and consumer behavior in relation to floriculture sector before and during the pandemic. Findings revealed not only the price and supply changes but also notable changes in consumer behavior. Understanding the impact of COVID-19 is crucial for policy/decision-makers, as it provides vital insights that will enable stakeholders in the floriculture industry to develop resilient strategies for navigating future crises.
