Abstract

The present investigation of “Response of acid lime (cv. Kagzi) seedling to GA3 and growing media for germination and growth attributes” was carried out during 2022- 2023 at Fruit Research Station Imaliya, Department of Horticulture, JNKVV, Jabalpur (MP). The statistical design of the research was Factorial Completely Randomized Design (FCRD). The main objective of the research was to determine the effect of different concentration of the GA3 and growing media on the different germination parameter of the acid lime seedling cv. Kagzi. The experiment consist of six growing media, viz., (M1) Soil + Sand + FYM, (M2) Soil + Sand + FYM + PSB + VAM, (M3) Soil + Sand + Vermicompost, (M4) Soil + Sand + Vermicompost + PSB + VAM, (M5) Soil +Cocopeat, (M6) Soil + Cocopeat + PSB + VAM and three concentration of gibberellic acid i.e. (P1) GA3 0ppm, (P2) GA3 50ppm, (P3) GA3 100ppm and (P4) GA3 150ppm. The treatment Soil + Sand + Vermicompost + PSB + VAM and GA3 150ppm were proved most promising in growth parameter whereas, growing media (M6) Soil + Cocopeat + PSB + VAM were found most promising in germination parameters, i.e., days taken to first germination (16.01days) & days taken to 50% germination (27.57days). The treatment combinations P4M4 (Soil + Sand + Vermicompost + PSB + VAM) + (GA3 150 ppm) was proved most superior over rest of the treatment combinations with respect to growth parameters like seedling height (8.93 & 16.97cm), number of leaves per seedling (5.09 & 10.33), girth of stem (1.43 & 2.56 mm) and no. of branches ( 1.75 & 2.56) and survival percentage ( 77.77 & 73.70 %) at 60 and 120 DAS, respectively .
